A few weeks ago I celebrated my birthday. It was everything I ever wanted, good quality time with family and friends, simple plans, and feeling special. I also scored some awesome freebies!
A couple of years ago, I didn’t even know about all of the perks you can receive on your birthday. Many companies out there have a birthday promotion for people who just sign up.
Honestly, there are too many to count and they appeal to all walks of life. My particular taste is beauty, clothing, and yummy treats! I will regrettably say that I did miss out on my Starbucks freebie though. It was a sad, sad day when I realized I missed my chance to enjoy a venti mocha latte for free. Oh well, next year.
Free stuff is always awesome, isn’t it? Especially when it’s not just junk you’re going to eventually stick in some drawer somewhere and throw away later. And the items I got are things I’ll be using regularly. Let me show you.
A comfy tee from Kohl’s
Kohl’s sometimes sends a $10 off certificate that you can use on anything in the store, no minimum spend amount required. So, literally, you can just get something under $10 and score it for free. It’s awesome. I will say though, their store rarely has items that are under $10, unless you’re looking for flip flops! I decided to look in the juniors section (something I don’t often do, because, um, I’m not a junior?) and found basic tees in this army green color that I’ve been wanting for a while. I love basics, I can mix and match with so many options and they make a great versatile addition to my wardrobe!
Tarte Tarteist Blush and liquid lipstick from Sephora (along with beauty samples!)
I just signed up with Sephora during Christmas time. I generally like trying out new makeup and skincare products and this gives me the chance to try them out at no cost to me.
Their small size makes it easy to travel with as well, so it’s a win-win.
NYX Happy Birthday! Eyeshadow Palette from Ulta
This palette was surprising to me. It’s full-sized and pretty pigmented, so a little goes a long way. The colors are neutral and go well with my skin tone. I even used it for a wedding we were invited to and it stayed on pretty well through the night. It came with 10 colors and the fact that it was free was a big bonus.
Fudge Brownie from Corner Bakery
I left the yummi-ness for last! I am a huge addict of all things sugar. Buy me chocolate and I’ll love you forever. Brownies? I die. I’m not even exaggerating, I’m pretty obsessed with brownies. They are one of the rare things that I honestly could never resist when I’m dieting, they kill my willpower in an instant.
This brownie was so good I forgot to take a picture first! See? They turn off my brain and put me in a trance. This was so decadent and scrumptious that I had to close my eyes as I chewed to fully savor it. Yeah, I could be a spokesperson for this brownie. Corner Bakery? Are you listening?
But even if you aren’t into brownies, they’ve got a whole lineup of yummy treats that you can get instead.
These are the freebies I got this year. I did get some free entrees/desserts at Benihana, Olive Garden, and some others, but those always require us to go and spend money before saving money. I don’t mind those deals too, but I definitely like freebies better!
