Another tuna salad recipe. Sounds boring right? Not this recipe. It has so many different flavors that play on your taste buds like a symphony. It’s delicious and super budget-friendly.
Growing up, I hated tuna salad. This is partly because my mom never put mayo in it and partly because, aside from the fishy tuna, it was bland and flavorless.
This tuna salad recipe changes that. It is packed with flavor, has sweetness, saltiness, AND creaminess! And it is so budget-friendly, you’ll want to make it again and again.
This is a great lunch option if you’re working, going to school or if you want to send your kids with something that they’ll love. This is packed with protein and nutrients and you can substitute the mayo if you want it to be more healthy.
Let’s get started!
The ingredients you’ll need:
Tuna, 3 cans drained (I bought them for $0.79 per can)
This will make about 7 sandwiches, great for a picnic or a group lunch!
Celery, 1 stalk diced (I usually get it for $0.50-$0.99 each)
Mayonnaise, 2 Tbsp (I get my mayo from Costco, but I’m going to keep an eye out for sales and coupons)
1/2 Green apple, finely diced
Walnuts, 1/4 cup chopped
Salt and Pepper to taste
Empty the tuna cans into a medium sized bowl.
Add the mayo, salt and pepper.
Mix in the celery, apple, and walnuts.
Done! So easy, delicious, and cheap!
My kids request this from me all the time. So it’s one of my go-to recipes when I’m short on time and want to pack in some flavor for our lunches. It feels gourmet, but it’s such a frugal recipe, you’ll enjoy the savings as you devour this scrumptious dish.

Sounds delicious! Almost like chicken salad without needing leftover chicken.
It’s yummy, hope you try it and let me know! Yes, it’s the easier version of chicken salad, haha.
